Cruza

Cruza are behind a smudged and faded mix of left-field R&B and alternative rock that stimulates the mind as much as it does the body. The Orlando-based band got started with the 2018 release of their first commercial singles, leading to Cult Research and Dog Daze, EPs issued respectively in 2020 and 2021. The typically trippy "Seltzer" heralded their Def Jam deal in 2022, and has been followed with the 2023 Paranoia Pack EP and subsequent singles ahead of their first full-length. The core of Cruza consists of multi-instrumentalist/producer AJ Roth and vocalist Adam Kain, musicians who grew up together in Alabama. Based out of Orlando, Roth and Kain launched Cruza in 2018 with "A Summertime Horror" and "Arcadian Breeze," and leveled up a bit when Urban Outfitters playlisted one of the uploads. San Diegan guitarist Charity Joy Brown joined in early 2020, and the lineup soon became a quartet with the addition of Sago, a drummer from Maryland. Cruza released a seven-track EP entitled Cult Research that August, and the following December issued the like-sized Dog Daze, licensed to Terrible Records. In 2022, after they assisted Smino on the song "Louphoria," they returned on Def Jam with "Seltzer" and "Fantasy," and continued the next year with a four-song Paranoia Pack, highlighted by the aptly titled "Hypnotherapy." Working up to the release of their first album, they began 2024 with "Lover's Rock," "Supa Anxious," and "Such Is Love" increasing the anticipation.
