Ana Castela
Ana Flávia Castela, born on November 16, 2003, in Amambai, Mato Grosso do Sul, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter known by the nickname "Boiadeira." Growing up in Sete Quedas, a town on the border with Paraguay, she was introduced to music early on by her mother, Michele, an instrumentalist and influencer. Despite initially aspiring to a career in medicine, a homemade video of her singing a song by musician Loubet changed her path. The video's success helped her overcome her stage fright, steering her towards music. She began her artistic journey in 2019 in the Catholic choir Coração de Maria. Her musical interests, inspired by artists like Anavitória and Melim, led her to explore various genres during the early pandemic, including pop, acoustic rap, and sertanejo music. In 2021, she made her professional debut with the single "Boiadeira," which not only became her nickname but also marked the start of her rise to fame, further propelled by viral dance and fun videos on social media. 2022 was her breakout year, with the track "Pipoco," a collaboration with Melody, hitting the top of the Billboard Brazil Songs chart. Another collaboration, "Bombonzinho" with Israel & Rodolfo, also reached number 1 in Brazil and debuted on the Billboard Global 200. Ana Castela's collaborations continued in 2023 with hits like "Carinha de Bebê" with Pedro Sampaio and a series of releases under the AgroPlay project. She also announced her new DVD Boiadeira Internacional, recorded in front of a 70,000-strong crowd in Paraná. The concert spawned a series of live EPs, whose first three installments were released throughout 2023. A fourth volume, titled Boiadeira Internacional, Vol. 4, came out in early 2024 and included the hit single "Lua," featuring Alok and Hungria Hip Hop.
