Alycia Bella

Contemporary R&B artist Alycia Bellamy, aka Alycia Bella, specializes in candid songwriting and billowy vocals. After numerous ups, downs, and collaborations, she made her full-length debut in 2021 with Muse, an assured set featuring fellow Bay Area native E-40, Vince Staples, and stylistic peer Summer Walker. Bella has been involved with music and the entertainment industry in general since her childhood. Originally from the Bay Area, she started recording in the 2000s, and toward the end of that decade received nationwide exposure with appearances in the reality television series Daddy's Girls, as a friend of co-stars Vanessa and Angela Simmons. Bella ventured into acting and appeared in the 2012 film Christmas in Compton, the soundtrack of which featured a song by Suga Stuff, a vocal group featuring herself, Fefe Dobson, and Kristinia DeBarge. Shortly thereafter, Bella picked up a credit as a co-writer of LL Cool J's "Not Leaving You Tonight." Although she also made connections with the likes of Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo, and Frank Ocean, Bella was otherwise thwarted by a series of label deals that didn't pan out. In 2020, however, she emerged with a Universal distribution deal and a batch of atmospheric if emotionally resonant ballads, most of which were made with Summer Walker collaborator Jacob Gamboa. All four of these tracks were contained on the full-length Muse, which arrived early the next year.
