Luc Leandry

Born in Guadeloupe, Luc Léandry, author, composer, performer and arranger specializing in zouk, emerged on the international scene in 1987 with his first album, Fanm Bô Kannal . With a steady stream of albums (Alerte n°2 in 1988, Punch Créole in 1989, Super in 1990, Top des Tops Unlimited in 1992, Au Top Niveau in 1992, I Salé I Sikré in 1993), the artist, signed to Debs Music, established himself as one of the leading figures in Guadeloupean zouk. He scored a major hit with the single "Dans tes yeux" in 1994, winning the Maracas d'or award. This was followed by Machine-La in 1995, Jump Up (Sa Ka Pit Zouk) in 1996, Nuit Blanche pour une Musique Noire in 1998 and Voilà la Chose in 1998. The following year, he welcomed Manu Dibango on one of his tracks, "Bondié Bon", which opened the Peace & Love album released in 2000. During the 2000s, the artist, who had become the owner of a studio and production company in Paris, Likid Production, devoted himself to producing albums, such as Je t'ai Choisi pour Amélie, in 2006 or Big Faya de Big Tom in 2007, while maintaining an intensive rhythm for his own albums until 2017, from More Fire in 2002 recorded with Jeff Joseph to Ici C'est le Zouk in 2017. In the years that followed, he released more and more singles, including "Dis-moi si tu m'aimes" and "Pa Touché Coq en Mwem'" in 2022.
