Despite its sophomoric inclinations and the limitations of its sound, female duo L'Trimm can usually be counted on to deliver club-oriented pop/rap that is hardly remarkable, but likeable enough. With this album, Tigra and Bunny D. attempt to evolve and pretty much move away from the Miami-bass sound for which they've been known. Though not quite as appealing as Grab It or Drop That Bottom, Groovy isn't without its pleasures -- including the rap/house number "Glamour Girls," a remake of the Archies' 1960s' pop hit "Sugar Sugar" and the new jack swing-inspired title song. Meanwhile, the influence of groups like C&C Music Factory and Snap is hard to miss on "Jungle," "Snap, Crackle, Pop" and "Get Loose." L'Trimm's popularity in club circles proved to be short-lived, and by the mid-'90s, the duo was barely a footnote in rap and dance music history.
