Das erste Schäfchen aus dem Hause "Elementree", veröffentlicht mit "Candyass" sein Debut. Industrial der Marke Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Krupps und Konsorten prägen den Sound der Orgys.
Aber zu einem Orgy kommt es beim Anhören dieser Scheibe nicht. Obwohl viel mit Sampels und Loops gearbeitet wird, kommen all die Soundschnipsel und Collagen bei den großen Vorbildern wesentlich origineller rüber. Alles schon in besserer Qualität dagewesen...
Mit der Coverversion des New Order-Klassikers "Blue Monday" [RealAudio-Hörprobe] ist den Orgasmatronikern allerdings die definitive Neuinterpretation dieses 80er Hits gelungen. Zusammen mit dem schön stampfenden "Gender" verheißt dieser Song aber nur einen kurzen Ausflug aus dem Sound-Einheitsbrei.
Die Überraschungsmomente fehlen und der Sound nervt, wie eine ausgelaufene Tube Pattex, in die aus Versehen jemand hineingetreten ist. Irgendwann kommt dann der Moment, wo ich mich frage, warum hier um X-ten mal dasselbe Lied läuft, austauschbar und ohne großen Wiedererkennungswert...
Durchschnittlich und nicht sonderlich originell, also alles andere als ein Höhepunkt, eher ein danebengegangener Coitus Interruptus.
