Los Tremendos Trex

Dubbed by the media as “The Master of Sarcasm,” Franco Javier López Escamilla (April 19, 1981) is a Mexican standup comedian and singer-songwriter whose dark sense of humor helped establish him as one of the main exponents of Latin comedy. Born in the city of Cuautla, Morelos, he relocated to Monterrey with his mother after his parents’ divorce in 1997. There, he attended the Monterrey College of Music and Dance and went on to pursue a career in comedy, gradually building a substantial online following through his video-sharing channel. In the subsequent years, Franco Escamilla toured relentlessly throughout Mexico and Latin America and landed his own talk show at Estrella TV, The Franco Escamilla Show, in 2016. His meteoric ascent to stardom continued with the release of three popular comedy specials: Bienvenido al Mundo (2016), Por la Anécdota (2017), and RPM (2018), which spawned a lengthy world tour. In 2020, Franco Escamilla became the first Latino comedian to appear at Carnegie Hall in New York. In parallel with his standup comedy performances, he has also recorded a collection of acoustic folk songs titled Fe, released in 2017, and collaborated with rapper Santa RM on his 2021 single “Mucho Para Mí.”
