Liu Yu Ning
Although initially known as the lead singer of the Chinese pop group Modern Brothers, Liu Yuning launched a solo career in 2019 while also maintaining his profile as a popular TV host and actor. He was born in Dandong, Liaoning, on January 8, 1990, and was raised by his grandparents. Forming Modern Brothers in 2014, he rose to fame with the band's frequent performances on social networks and live-streaming platforms. By the time Modern Brothers began playing live concerts for physical audiences in 2018, they'd become genuine pop stars in China, with the band regularly performing sold-out stadium shows. That same year, Liu Yuning released his first single outside of the group, "让酒," and recorded theme songs for TV shows like Tomb of the Sea, Shanghai Picked Flowers, and Eagles and Youngster. He released his debut solo album Ten in 2019 and received multiple honors at the year's Chinese Top Ten Music Awards, including "Best New Artist" and "Internet Influencer Award." One year later, he won "All-Around Artist of the Year" at the same awards ceremony, a feat he repeated in 2021. Meanwhile, Liu Yuning also appeared on Chinese television as both a gameshow host and actor, with highlights including the 2020 streaming series Ultimate Note and the 2021 historical drama The Long Ballad. He continued releasing well-received C-pop singles, too, with "一愛如故" and both "煙火星辰" both appearing in 2021.
