Kung Pao
Not long after their 1997 formation, the three-piece of Kung Pao relocated from Madison, WI, to import their sludge of metal and punk to New York City. The lineup of T.B. (bass), Davey D (drums), and Chovie D (guitar/ vocals) brought on an AmRep Records influence of the Melvins and Helmet as they first packaged this sound on the 1998 split with Tucker on Maduro Records. The following winter, -ismist Records contributed in the release of Kung Pao's first full-length Bogota.
