Hkayne

Founded in 1996 in Meknes, Morocco, by five rappers, Sif L'san, HB2, Ter-Hoor, Othman Benhami and DJ Khalid, H-Kayne existed first under the name Dogs, then 15/3-MKS. All affiliated with hip-hop cultures, from dance to rap, the members of the group wanted to build an entity to convey their ideas. After initial freestyles, H-Kayne got together in the early 2000s to record their first compositions. First in 2002, in a converted studio, the five members put together a demo for their first album, still in draft form. After several concerts in Morocco, a date at the Institut Français de Meknès aroused the curiosity of programmers and gave H-Kayne the opportunity to tour institutional venues. At the same time, 1 Son 2 Bled'Art, the band's first album, was released in early 2004, to great national acclaim. Spotted by Platinium Music, a record company attached to Universal, H-Kayne followed up with a second album, HK 1426, and made a name for themselves internationally, with the hit single "Issawa Style". Influenced by the French rap of the 1990s and early 2000s, as well as by raï and traditional Moroccan music, H-Kayne represents an emerging Moroccan scene. After a world tour, the group presented its third studio album, H-Kaynology, and established itself on the Moroccan rap scene. Following these numerous successes, the group performs live and regularly unveils singles, such as "Ygoulou Mabghaw" (2017) and "Ça Va Pas " (2018), attracting millions of listeners.
