Gerhard Schöne
German singer/songwriter Gerhard Schone was born January 10, 1952, in Dresden and grew up in the German Democratic Republic. He is known first and foremost as a singer of children's songs and has recorded lullabies and children's folk songs from all over the world. He has written many children's songs as well, and his gentle, simple lyrics are often critical of damaging social policies. Schone released his first recording in 1981 and has been active ever since, campaigning tirelessly for children's rights.
