Eric Bobo
Eric Bobo, son of legendary Willie Bobo, trails only (perhaps) the Roots’ Questlove as the most significant percussionist in the formative decades of hip-hop. Bobo’s fierce Latin rhythms aided the Beastie Boys in their evolution from rap brats to hip-hop revolutionaries and earned him a permanent residency with L.A. troupe Cypress Hill--he became an official member in 1994. By 2008, his reputation preceded him and his debut record, MEETING OF THE MINDS, boasted an all-star cast of MCs.
