Elles Bailey

Born in Bristol, England, Elles Bailey is an award-winning blues rock singer, songwriter, and pianist. After contracting pneumonia at the age of 3, she had a tube inserted into her throat, which caused her to have a deep, husky voice. While this concerned her parents at first, it eventually proved to be an advantage when she became a blues and rock musician. Inspired by her father’s record collection, she became interested in music and joined an indie rock band. She became interested in blues music and Americana, which inspired her to go solo and follow a new musical path. In 2015, she released her debut EP Who Am I to Me, which was followed by her second EP, The Elberton Sessions, in 2016. Elles Bailey recorded her debut album, Wildfire (2017), in Nashville, Tennessee and spent the next year touring the US and UK. Her sophomore album, Road I Call Home, was released in 2019 and reached Number 1 on the Blues Albums chart in the UK. The release earned Elles Bailey Album of the Year and Artist of the Year honors from the UKBlues Awards. She followed that release with Blacktop Companion (2019), which consisted of acoustic and session recordings. 2020’s Ain’t Nothing But was a collection of songs recorded during livestreams in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The album earned her the Artist of the Year award at the UKBlues Awards for the second year in a row. Recorded in the midst of the COVID-19 lockdown, Shining in the Half Light (2022) was another significant album as it was recorded while Elles Bailey was pregnant. The album reached Number 4 on the Independent Albums chart in the UK.
