Conversa de Cordas
The instrumental group Conversa de Cordas, devoted to Brazilian popular and folkloric genres revisited under a classical perspective, was formed in 1995, in Rio de Janeiro. Their first CD, Biscuit, was nominated for the Sharp Prize as the best instrumental album of 1995. In the same year, the Conversa de Cordas were considered the Revelation of the Year as an instrumental group by newspapers O Globo and O Estado de São Paulo. They also had their soundtracks for the theater plays Romão e Julinha and O Circo Mágico de Provolone, Goiabada e Guaraná awarded with the Coca-Cola Prize in 1996 and 1997. The group's second CD, Vou Vivendo de Folia (1996), was again nominated for the Sharp Prize as the best instrumental release of the year.
