Anna Lunoe
Australian DJ Anna Lunoe is a popular producer, singer, and songwriter, known for her dance-oriented, electronic pop sound. One of the first women to mix for Ministry of Sound, Lunoe broke through in 2012 with the EP Anna Lunoe & Friends, featuring Flume and Touch Sensitive. Along with high-profile appearances at Coachella, TomorrowWorld, and Electric Daisy Carnival, she scored dance hits like "Real Talk," "All Out," and "B.D.D. (Bass Drum Dealer)." In 2019, she released the Right Party EP. Following time off, Lunoe returned in 2022 with a tour and the Saturday Love EP.
A native of Sydney, Lunoe started playing music in her teens, initially on piano and guitar. However, after leaving school she began experimenting with DJ'ing and computer production. After working for FBi radio, she began producing the popular Clubbers Guide mix compilations for Ministry of Sound, one of the first women to DJ for the global house music brand. Several of the compilations topped the internet dance charts and went gold in Australia. Around 2012, she relocated to Los Angeles and gained wider attention with the release of her Anna Lunoe & Friends EP, which featured guest spots from Flume and Touch Sensitive. She continued to build her fan base with numerous live appearances, including DJ sets at Electric Daisy Carnival, Coachella, Ultra, and TomorrowWorld. More well-received singles followed, including 2014's "B.D.D. (Bass Drum Dealer)," 2016's "Radioactive," and 2017's "Bullseye." Also in 2017, she toured with Diplo and the Weeknd, launched her own Hyperhouse brand, and gave birth to her first child.
In 2018, Lunoe delivered the single "Blaze of Glory," followed by the Right Party EP in 2019. However, 2020 proved a difficult year for the DJ, who gave birth to her second child while fighting an ear infection that left her deaf, first partially in one ear and then fully in both, for several months. She relocated back to Sydney, a move that happened to coincide with Australia going into lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unable to tour and still recovering from her pregnancy and health issues, Lunoe briefly considered quitting music altogether. She eventually regained her health and in March 2022 returned with single "Double Dip" with Madison Rose. An EP, Saturday Love, followed that October and featured appearances by Lulu Be. and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. She also embarked on her first U.S. tour in over two years.
