Bertrand Belin

Born on the Quiberon peninsula into a family of Morbihan fishermen on December 7, 1970, Bertrand Belin became interested in the Cajun music of New Orleans, and in 1989 joined the Canadian group Stompin' Crawfish, where he stayed for six years, recording two albums. In 1996, he joined the British band Sons of the Desert for two albums, before embarking on a solo career as a singer-songwriter. In addition to two albums for the Sterne label, Bertrand Belin (2005) and La Perdue (2007), he composes the musical parts of shows and films, notably collaborating with choreographer Philippe Decouflé. In 2010, his first album for the Cinq7 label, Hypernuit, won the Grand-Prix du disque de l'Académie Charles-Cros. A mix of chanson, pop and rock, he subsequently recorded his deep voice on the albums Parcs (2013) and Cap Waller (2015), which won the Prix Raoul-Breton de la Sacem. He collaborated with The Limiñanas and Rodolphe Burger, wrote the song "Vague à l'âme sœur " for Vanessa Paradis, and recorded the albums Persona (2019) and Tambour Vision (2022) on his own behalf. Bertrand Belin is also a theater and film actor, notably in Tralala (2021) by brothers Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrieu - for which he composed the music - and the author of several novels for publisher P.O.L.: Requin (2015), Littoral (2016), Grands carnivores (2019) and Vrac (2020).
