MISZCZYK

Under the Miszczyk moniker, Toronto-based producer Nyles Miszczyk blends a variety of unlikely styles with a detailed precision that comes from years of sculpting beats and working as a studio engineer. For his 2022 debut album, Thyrsis of Etna, Miszczyk invited a multitude of guests to provide lead vocals for various tracks, including Stereolab's Laetitia Sadier, the Space Lady, Pylon's Vanessa Briscoe Hay, longtime collaborator Chandra Oppenheim, and many others. Miszczyk's long and diverse musical history includes time spent as part of rap group Bread & Water and bassist for post-punk anomaly Chandra. He also worked extensively as a producer with multiple bands and solo acts as the in-house engineer at Toronto’s Royal Mountain Records studios. In 2019, Miszczyk and Chandra collaborated on the Bad Ride EP, a four-song release that served as a brief introduction to his sound as a solo artist. His 2022 full-length Thyrsis of Etna was a far more ambitious outing, with a wide array of friends and guests contributing vocals and other elements to Miszczyk's fine-tuned instrumentals. The album was released on the We Are Time label in July of 2022.
