lesti Kejora

Lesti is the alias of Lestiani Andryani, an award-winning Sudanese singer/songwriter who performs a modernized, pop-influenced version of dangdut music. Born on August 5, 1999, in the Indonesian capital of Bandung, West Java, she began singing publicly at 8 years old and appeared on the Indonesian TV competition D'Academy as a young teenager, ultimately winning the show's first season in 2014. At the time, Lesti was only 14 years old. Her debut single, "Kejora," was released that same year and won a SCTV Award for "Most Popular Dangdut Song." One year later, she released the follow-up single "Zapin Melayu" and competed in a larger incarnation of D'Academy called D'Academy Asia, ultimately finishing in second place behind the competition's winner, Danang Pradana Dieva. Lesti continued releasing singles during the decade's final years, with highlights including "Buka Mata Hati," "Mati Gaya," "Lebih Dari Selamanya," and "Ada Cerita." A collaboration with fellow vocalist Fildan Rahayu, "Lebih Dari Selamanya" became one of the era's most celebrated dangdut songs, winning awards from the Anugerah Dangdut Indonesia, the Indonesian Dangdut Awards, and the Anugerah Musik Indonesia ceremonies. Lesti continued shaping the sound of contemporary dangdut with 2020's "Tirani" and "Ku Lepas Dengan Ikhlas," the former of which was named "Best Dangdut Song" at the 2020 installment of Anugerah Dangdut Indonesia.
