Kojey Radical
De son vrai nom Kwadwo Adu Genfi Amponsah, Kojey Radical naît le 4 janvier 1993 à Hoxton, Londres (Angleterre). Fils d’immigrés ghanéens, il débute sa carrière en tant que poète et artiste de spoken word. À la fin de ses études à l’université de la mode à Londres, il lance son premier projet musical enregistré, l’EP Dear Daisy: Opium. Il effectue alors des concerts et des premières parties, notamment pour Young Fathers. Suivent en 2017 l’EP In Gods Body avec les participations de Shola Ama, Ghetts, Tamera Foster, Miloh Smith, du producteur Potè, Obongjayar et de l’actrice et scénariste anglaise Michaela Coel, puis en 2019 un quatrième EP du nom de Cashmere Tears, encensé par la critique. Ce n’est qu’en 2022 qu’intervient son tout premier album, Reason to Smile, qui parvient aux portes du Top 10 au Royaume-Uni (n° 11).
