Frida Ånnevik

Frida Ånnevik – born June 18, 1984 in Hamar, Norway – is a Norwegian musician, composer and lyricist. She is the daughter of folk singer Tor Karseth. She grew up on Ridabu outside Hamar surrounded by music and theater. In 2009, she recorded a demo of her songs and submitted it to the Grappa music publishing house. Ånnevik was awarded Grappa's debutant award in 2009 and released her debut album Synlige Hjerteslag in November 2010. The album was a critical success, achieving a 10 out of 10 rating on the influential NRK P1 program Norsk på norsk. Ånnevik won the Norwegian Lyricist Fund debutant award in 2010. She was nominated for two Spellemannprisen awards in 2010: Best New Artist and Folk Singer of the Year. She released her second album, Ville Ord, in 2013, winning the Spellemannprisen award for Lyricist of the Year.

She continued to receive awards such as 2014’s Neshornet, a cultural prize award by the newspaper Klassekampen. That same year, she collaborated with Norwegian jazz trio In the Country and released the album Skogens Sang. She released the album Her Bor in 2016, followed a year later by her fifth album, Flyge Fra.
