DJ Scream

Atlanta native DJ Scream is a DJ, rapper, and mixtape host whose curatorial spirit has guided projects for Migos, OutKast, Future, and many others. Along with founding the Hoodrich entertainment brand and DJ Collective, DJ Scream has collaborated with some of rap's biggest names on releases like 2016 mixtape Legend (which features contributions from 2 Chainz, Young Dolph, and many others) and established himself as a radio personality in shows for iHeart Radio, SiriusXM, and more, where he spoke in depth with music celebrities and brought new artists to the attention of his listeners. DJ Scream was born in Atlanta in 1981, and first became fascinated with rap music and culture when he watched the movie Juice at age 12. He attended Tuskegee University, and it was there that he developed an interest in music and radio, developing his craft at the college radio station. While at the university, he began hosting parties, releasing his own mixtapes, and making mix show appearances on Atlanta's influential Hot 107.9 FM. His mixtapes hit on a national level, including both his popular street series (Heavy in the Streets) and "pillow talk R&B" series (So Seductive), while his Hoodrich Radio series soon became the name of his business/brand. The Game, Plies, OutKast, and many others commissioned Scream to curate their own mixtapes throughout the 2000s and 2010s, and he remained a force in radio, rap culture, entertainment, and social causes as the years went on. He worked closely with artists like Rick Ross, Migos, and Snoop Dogg, interviewed music greats such as Birdman and Janet Jackson on his various radio shows and podcast projects, and gave back to the community with efforts from his nonprofit organization The Scream Foundation, established in 2020 with a focus on giving young people the tools and understanding they need to succeed in life.
