The Creations
The Creations, a short-lived group from Cleveland, OH, consisted of Annette Tucker, Claude Robinson, Rudolph Rome, and two other unknown members. Tucker was fascinated by show business, and befriended Johnny Bristol when he appeared in Cleveland with Jackey Beavers as Johnny & Jackey. They regularly rode in from Detroit to appear at the Play-Mor, the Circle Ballroom, and other venues. The Creations recorded one single on Marty Conn's Patti Jo label (named after one of Conn's girlfriends) entitled "You'll Always Be Mine" b/w "Seventeen." While popular at spots like Skateland and the Play Mor, hometown cheers didn't sell records. The end came after a confrontation with Conn, who booted them off his label, causing them to disband and pursue other interests. Tucker later married Edwin Starr (formerly known as Charles Hatcher) and the couple eventually divorced; later, Tucker lived in Las Vegas.
