Robert Sput Searight
Robert "Sput" Searight, born around 1975 in Dallas, Texas, is an acclaimed American drummer, composer, and producer. His dynamic career spans various genres including jazz, fusion, R&B, gospel, funk, rock, and pop, showcasing his versatility and innovative approach to music. Robert Searight gained fame through his work with the jazz fusion band Snarky Puppy and co-founded the percussion-based band Ghost-Note. His discography is rich with collaborations and achievements, including Grammy-winning performances. Notably, Robert Searight contributed to the albums God's Property from Kirk Franklin's Nu Nation (1997) by God's Property, Fortified (2015) and Swagism (2018) with Ghost-Note, and multiple albums with Snarky Puppy such as Bring Us the Bright (2008), Tell Your Friends (2010), GroundUP (2012), Family Dinner – Volume 1 (2013), Sylva (2015), Family Dinner – Volume 2 (2016), and Culcha Vulcha (2016).
