Rademacher
Consistently compared to Pavement due to their common roots in Fresno, CA, Rademacher, in truth, sound more similar to Clap Your Hands Say Yeah or Arcade Fire. Songs sprawl with layers of shouts and la las, building crescendos, and added splashes of Cars keyboards. Sure, there's a bit of Malkmusian lethargy and wit, but in essence, Rademacher fit the modern indie mold with tom-tom-fueled sunshiny songs that rely heavily on the big glorious hook. Consisting of frontman Malcolm Sosa, bassist Greer McGettrick, guitarist Brad Basmajian, and drummer Eli Reyes, the foursome self-recorded and self-released three EPs between 2004 and 2006. In 2007, Aaron Espinoza of Earlimart decided to lend his nimble fingers to engineer Stunts, resulting in a more epic and commercially viable sound for the group.
