Joe Driscoll
Born in Syracuse, New York in 1979, singer and songwriter Joe Driscoll promotes a unique fusion of genres and instruments. More of a one-man band than a solo artist, in his gigs he typically combines vocal percussion loops with guitar, mbira, bass, singing, and rapping. Driscoll issued his debut album, Little Beat Big, in 2003, followed by Origin Myths (2006), Life as a Monkey (2006), and Mixtape Champs (2010). A regular presence at European and North American festivals, Driscoll has shared the stage with artists such as Dirty Pretty Things, Regina Spektor, and Sugar Hill Gang. In 2014 he began an acclaimed collaboration with Guinean kora virtuoso Sekou Kouyate, which resulted in the albums Faya (2014) and Monistic Theory (2016).
