Deep Time
Existing as Yellow Fever between 2008 and 2012, the Austin, Texas duo of Jennifer Moore and Adam Jones changed their band name to Deep Time in early 2012 when they came into a legal issue with someone already claiming rights to the name. The name change offered the pair something of a rebirth, as Yellow Fever had changed members a few times and been slow to take off, despite frequent touring and a steady stream of minor releases. Deep Time tweaked the sound Yellow Fever had established only slightly, lending more sophisticated rhythms and repetitive hooks to the minimal pop template that had informed their earlier work. The band's self-titled debut album arrived in the summer of 2012 on Sub Pop subsidiary Hardly Art.
