ANDY S

Born in Abidjan on May 24, 1997, Andrea Sahouin lost her father at an early age and spent her childhood at her mother's side. Her mother, a musician, passed on the family's passion for music to her son, a singer, and then to her daughter, who became interested in rap. Influenced by Sexion D'assaut, Andy S declaimed her first freestyles in 2013 on the streets of Abidjan. She unveiled her first track, "Croque madame", published online in 2015, which sparked emulation and intrigue. Andy S gradually put aside her accounting studies to enter the music industry and develop her artistic touch. A meeting with Smayle, former member of the group Lekiptip, proved decisive: he inserted the young rapper into the Africa Mindset record label, which produced a single, "Cotisez" (2017), then a first mixtape, Pepitrap Vol. 1 (2017). The latter gave her a new stature in the Ivorian rap scene and rewarded her with the Prix talent rap ivoire at the Rap Hip Hop Awards 2017. After a change of structure, in 2019 the rapper presents a first EP with a protesting tone, Le rap n'a pas de sexe, underlining the still very masculine nature of the milieu. Andy S hopes to become the voice of a new generation of female rappers, and to establish herself as one of the national figures of the genre. With a new mixtape, Exousia, released in 2021, she is opening the doors to international markets, including a series of concerts in France.
