Andrée Watters
Andrée Watters is a Canadian singer-songwriter who performs in the country-pop and pop-rock genres. Born Andrée Watters-Michaud on January 25, 1983, in Charlesbourg, Quebec, she made her live debut at the age of 15 in the Christmas musical Noël à Québec. Over the next few years, she won a regional youth singing contest held by Expo Quebec and relocated to Montreal, where she made her first public appearance in the Radio-Canada game show La Fureur. After signing with Sony BMG in 2001, Andrée Watters released her first studio full-length AW (2003), which sold 75,000 copies in Quebec alone thanks to the popularity of radio hit singles like "Dépendre de Toi," "Si Exceptionnel," and "Ne Reste Pas." This success was followed by other well-received albums such as À Travers (2005), Minuit (2008), and Tout de Moi (2011), all of which received nominations to some of Canada's most prestigious music awards. During this time, Andrée Watters also portrayed the lead female role on the 2006 musical Dracula - Entre l'amour et la mort and played herself in the 2007 film À vos marques... party! Country-Rock, her first foray intro country music, saw the light in 2011 and reached Number 29 on the Canadian Albums Chart. She would continue in that vein on 2012's Country-Rock Cover, a collection of English-sung country classics that received two nominations to the Félix Awards. Since then, Andrée Watters has been involved in the children's music project Ari Cui Cui, whose 2014 album Lily et le Lutin was nominated for an ADISQ award. A second holiday-themed album titled Lily Et le Lutin Chantent Noël appeared in 2015.
