Mit ihrem neunten Album Unleashed kamen Skillet 2016 in die deutschen Top 20 - durchaus ungewöhnlich für eine Rock- und Metalband aus Memphis, die sich in ihren Texten dem christlichen Glauben verschrieben hat. Auch die Songs auf dem Nachfolgealbum Victorious, das im August 2019 erschien, sind oftmals christliche Loblieder - die aber wieder in energiegeladene Rockhymnen verpackt werden, deren Effekt spürbar ist, ob man den Glauben nun teilt oder nicht. Als Singles wurden die Songs "Legendary", "Save Me", "Anchor" und "You Ain't Ready" vorab präsentiert. Das Album stieg auf Platz 17 in die deutschen Charts ein.
