The Conversation von 2013 ist das achte Album der schottischen Rockband Texas und deren erstes Lebenszeichen seit 8 Jahren: Die letzte Scheibe Red Book war 2005 erschienen. Die lange Pause hat die Band allerdings wenig verändert; vielmehr scheint man sich auf die eigenen Wurzeln besonnen zu haben, erinnert das Album doch oft an das Debüt Southside von 1989. Auch die Stimme von Sharleen Spitteri ist nach wie vor unverkennbar. Echte Höhepunkte, die mit vergangenen Hits wie “Summer Son” (The Hush,1999) oder “Say What You Want” (White On Blonde, 1997) vergleichbar wären, fehlen allerdings. In die deutschen Charts sind Texas mit The Conversation auf Platz 38 eingestiegen.
