Sowohl im Einführungstext als auch in der musikalischen Darbietung wird hier ein sehr nachdrückliches und leidenschaftliches Plädoyer für Alessandro Scarlattis Instrumentalmusik gesprochen. Das ist durchaus berechtigt, und mit seinem auf Vitalität und Brillanz bedachten Interpretationsansatz holt Marcello Di Lisa eine Menge aus diesen Stücken heraus, um sie im Feld zwischen Corelli und Händel richtig zu verorten. Etwas auf der Strecke bleiben dabei allerdings die ruhigen, verweilenden und tief empfundenen Momente, die ebenfalls ein Charakteristikum des Opernkomponisten Scarlatti sind. Für dessen Ehrenrettung ist dies nichtsdestoweniger eine sehr wichtige und willkommene Einspielung.
