Kanonenfieber

Kanonenfieber is a blackened death metal band led by anonymous multi-instrumentalist Noise, who handles all studio recordings solo and is joined by guest musicians for live performances. Hailing from Bamberg, Germany, Kanonenfieber's songs dig deep into the history of World War I, using authentic documents and letters -- Noise founded the project after reading the frontline diaries of his great-grandfather -- to vividly describe the horrors. Citing extreme metal luminaires like Bolt Thrower and Minenwerfer as influences, Noise pieced together the project's uncompromising debut in 2020, releasing the finished product, Menschenmühle, the following year. The album caught the attention of Century Media, and the label enthusiastically added Kanonenfieber to its roster and issued 2024's acclaimed Die Urkatastrophe, which reached number three on the German charts.
