Bury Tomorrow
With a sound that merges post-hardcore's plaintiveness with metalcore's punishing heaviness, Bury Tomorrow attack listeners from all fronts with their emotionally charged metal assault. Offsetting layers of pleasant, atmospheric melody with sudden bursts of chugging heaviness, the band uses its breakdowns to create a brooding, moody effect. Emerging in 2007, they topped the charts in their U.K. homeland with the release of 2014's Runes. Subsequent efforts like Black Flame (2018), The Seventh Sun (2023), and Will You Haunt Me, With That Same Patience (2025) did little to temper the fire, as they delivered massive blasts of melodic metalcore with extreme prejudice. Formed in 2006 in Hampshire, England, by Jason Cameron (guitars/vocals), Daniel Winter-Bates (vocals), Davyd Winter-Bates (bass), Mehdi Vismara (guitar), and Adam Jackson (drums), Bury Tomorrow wasted no time bringing their sound to the people, self-releasing their first EP, The Sleep of the Innocents, in 2007. Portraits, their full-length debut, appeared two years later on Basick Records, and was followed quickly by another EP, On Waxed Wings, in 2010. Bury Tomorrow caught the attention of famed metal imprint Nuclear Blast, and in 2012 the band signed on with the label, releasing their sophomore effort, The Union of Crowns, later that year. 2013 saw the departure of founding member Mehdi Vismara and the arrival of new lead guitarist Kristan Daweson, who would appear on 2014's Runes, which debuted at number one on the U.K. Official Rock chart and climbed to number 16 on the U.S. Heatseekers chart. The hard-hitting and chart-topping Earthbound, Bury Tomorrow's fourth studio long-player, arrived in 2016, followed in 2018 by Black Flame, the latter of which was issued on Music for Nations. The group returned to the studio in 2019 with Dan Weller -- who'd produced their previous album -- to record their sixth long-player. Preceded by a handful of singles, Cannibal was issued at the beginning of 2020. New rhythm guitarist Ed Hartwell and keyboardist/clean vocalist Tom Prendergast joined the crew ahead of the release of album number seven. The Seventh Sun arrived in 2023 and saw Bury Tomorrow deliver a potent and decisive set of songs fueled by mammoth riffs and fist-pumping clean/scream choruses. For their eighth album Bury Tomorrow entered the studio with producer Carl Bown (Sleep Token, Bullet For My Valentine). 2025's Will You Haunt Me, With That Same Patience saw the group deliver their most personal and cathartic album yet.
