Pery Ribeiro was an important singer in the bossa nova style. This is the CD reissue of two of his albums, Pery É Todo Bossa (1963, arranged by Lyrio Panicalli) and Pery Muito Mais Bossa (1964, seven arrangements by Lyrio and five by Eumir Deodato). Covering classics such as "Vagamente," "Garota de Ipanema," "Berimbau," "Você," and many others, this release is representative of bossa nova in several areas: the talented, skilled vocal performance (attention for "Baiãozinho," especially the coda -- very uncommon and courageously innovative for those times), the repertory, the arrangements, and the execution.
