Easily the most comprehensive hits compilation for the Dazz Band, Funkology: The Definitive Dazz Band is a tasteful combination of not only their greatest hits from both phases of their career, but hard-to-find B-side alternate mixes and an amazing Megamix to kick off the album. Dazz delivers all of the goods you would expect from an Ohio funk group from that era: gorgeous production combined with well-thought-out songwriting arrangements wrapped around a slick bassline, topped off with a soulful melody. Since it is out of print, listeners would be well-served by checking out Universal's easily attainable 20th Century Masters -- The Millennium Collection: The Best of the Dazz Band. But if you can find this, by all means Funkology is the way to go.
