Seulgi

South Korean singer, actress, and model Seulgi rose to prominence in the mid-2010s as a member of the girl group Red Velvet and its subgroup, Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi. She began exploring solo work during the latter half of the decade, collaborating on hit songs with contemporaries like Zion. T and Wendy, while also appearing on television shows like Battle Trip and Cool Kids. Seulgi released her own debut EP, 28 Reasons, in late 2022, hitting number three on the Korean charts. After studying at the School of Performing Arts Seoul, Seulgi began training at SM Entertainment where she and fellow Red Velvet bandmate Irene were first introduced as part of the pre-debut project SM Rookies in 2013. Her first solo appearance was on "Butterfly," a 2014 track by Henry Lau released just prior to Red Velvet's debut single, "Happiness." Even as Red Velvet enjoyed commercial success, Seulgi continued to work outside the group, appearing on television shows like King of Mask Singer and Law of the Jungle in Mexico. She was featured on songs like Moonbyul's "Selfish" and Zion. T's hit "Hello Tutorial," and contributed to various soundtracks. In 2020, Seulgi and her bandmate Irene spun off from Red Velvet to form the subgroup Irene & Seulgi. Their debut EP, Monster, went platinum, hitting number two in South Korea and number five on Billboard's World Music chart. In early 2022, it was announced Seulgi had joined the K-pop supergroup Got the Beat. Later that year, she made her debut as a solo artist with the hit EP 28 Reasons.
