Timothy Norton
Bassist, composer, and educator Timothy Norton is a highly regarded sideman and bandleader known for his nuanced approach to post-bop jazz. He made his debut with 2022's Visions of Phaedrus.
Hailing from New England, Norton has been based in New York City since at least 2010. He's worked with a bevy of like-minded artists, including Jason Palmer, Ralph Peterson, John McNeil, Jeff "Tain" Watts, Marianne Solivan, and others. When not performing, he serves on the faculty at Jazz at Lincoln Center. In 2022, he made his debut as leader with Visions of Phaedrus, which showcased his group with trumpeter Josh Evans, saxophonist Jerome Sabbagh, guitarist Leandro Pellegrino, pianist Randy Ingram, and drummer Kush Abadey.
