Smith & Myers

First appearing in 2014, Smith & Myers is an acoustic side project from Shinedown frontman Brent Smith and guitarist Zach Myers. Delivering a mix of covers and heartfelt originals, the duo issued their debut album, Volume 1, in 2020. The project was born when the Florida band's marketing rep at Atlantic Records suggested they hold a contest online where fans would submit songs they'd like to hear the group cover acoustically. They received a huge response, eventually whittling down the submissions to an initial six, with four more to be revealed at a later date. Accompanied by YouTube videos of the two musicians performing each song, the (Acoustic Sessions) EP was released in early 2014 under the name Smith & Myers. Some of the songs included in the project are the Clash's "London Calling," Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters," and Soul Asylum's "Runaway Train." The duo returned in 2020 with their first full-length effort, Volume 1. Featuring the original single "Not Mad Enough," the ten-song set also saw the pair take on pop classics like "Unchained Melody" (Righteous Brothers) and "Never Tear Us Apart" (INXS).
