Sharon Roshell

A talented singer, songwriter, pastor, and psalmist based out of Louisville, Kentucky, Sharon Roshell's fiery vocals and passionate delivery have helped earn her the unofficial title of contemporary gospel music's "Anointed Sweetheart." A native of North Carolina, Roshell spent her formative years singing in churches and nursing homes alongside her parents and brother, all of whom shared her innate musicality. After graduating high school, Roshell had planned on studying to become a nurse, but a chance encounter at a tent revival with a traveling preacher would steer her course toward celebrating her faith via music instead. Upon graduating from Valor Christian College with a degree in Praise & Worship Leadership, Roshell moved to Baltimore, where she would serve as the worship leader at Kingdom Life Church, and develop her songwriting skills. Roshell issued her first collection of music, the God Is Bigger EP, in 2005, followed by her full-length debut, Never Thirst Again, in 2008. Roshell hit her stride in 2014 with the release of Church Girl 20:14, a moving ten-track collection that featured the powerful title cut ("The Church Girl Anthem") and its accompanying conceptual video. High-profile performances alongside contemporaries like Tye Tribbett, Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker, and Michael W. Smith helped to bring her even further into the gospel mainstream, as did the 2018 single "I Sing," which was released ahead of the arrival of the concert LP Declare and Decree Live in 2019.
