Nawel Ben Kraîem

Born in Tunisia in 1988, Nawel Ben Kraiem spent her teenage years there before moving to Paris, where she founded the group Cirrus, with whom she performed on small stages in the French capital, singing in four languages. With her group, she released a debut album in 2009 entitled Mama Please , then hit the road with Orange Blossom in 2010. Nawel Ben Kraiem returned to Tunisia after the "Jasmine Revolution" in the winter of 2010-2011, which led to the departure of Tunisian President Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali, who had held office since 1987. She joined the Enti Essout collective of alternative artists, and made her acting debut in Tony Gatlif's film Indignados in 2012, for which she also contributed to the soundtrack. She returned to music in 2013 with the EP Nawel , which saw her open for Susheela Raman, Natacha Atlas and the group Zebda, in France, Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt and Spain. Three years later, she released a new EP entitled Navigue, produced by Pierre Jaconelli, who had been introduced to her by Pascal Obispo. After joining Capitol Music France in 2017, she released the albums Par Mon Nom in 2018, Délivrance in 2020 and Je Chante Un Secret in 2022.
