Jessi Uribe

Jessi Uribe is a Colombian singer, songwriter, and musician. He was born Yesid Eduardo Uribe Ordóñez on March 22, 1987, in Bucaramanga, Colombia. Though he grew up surrounded by music, he originally intended to be a soccer player. It was in his teens that he decided to pursue music. He gained his first significant exposure in 2008 by participating in Latin American Idol, where he was selected among the top twenty Colombian artists to represent the country in Argentina, eventually making it into the Top 50 in Latin America. His next big break came in 2013 when he appeared on the Colombian version of singing competition The Voice. In 2017, Jessi Uribe participated in the reality show A Otro Nivel, finishing in second place. This marked a turning point in his career, leading to the release of his single "Dulce Pecado" in 2017. The song became a massive hit, garnering over 440 million views on video-streaming platforms and earning him nationwide fame. Jessi Uribe continued to release successful singles like "Matemos las Ganas," "Ok," "Repítela," and "El Último No." He has collaborated with artists such as Jhonny Rivera, Paola Jara, Andy Rivera, and Espinoza Paz. 2020 saw the release of Jessi Uribe Live, a live album. In 2020 and 2021, he received multiple nominations at the Premios Nuestra Tierra, winning Artist of the Year and Popular Song of the Year for "La Conquista" (feat. Paola Jara). Additionally, he was nominated for Artist of the Year at the 2021 Premios Latin Plug as well as for New Generation Regional Mexican and Best Mariachi-Ranchera Song for "El Alumno" at the 2021 Premio Juventud. In 2023 Jessi Uribe released the studio album D'Lejitos, a collection of romantic songs in the key of mariachi.
