Ian Munsick

An innovative country artist with an old soul and a distinctive tenor, Ian Munsick emerged in 2017 with a sound that evokes both the windswept vistas of his rural Wyoming upbringing and the cosmopolitan country-pop of Nashville. He released his wide-ranging major-label debut, Coyote Cry, in 2021, followed by the Old West-themed White Buffalo in 2023, which made the Top Ten on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. Born and raised on a working ranch in Sheridan, Wyoming, Munsick spent his formative years soaking in a multitude of sounds, from the bluegrass beloved by his fiddle-playing father to the mop-topped pop craftsmanship of the Beatles. He started playing guitar with the family band (the Munsick Boys) at the age of ten and eventually began writing his own songs, which drew from a wide array of genres, including pop, rock, country, and hip-hop. Looking to make his own mark in the music scene, he later relocated to Nashville and released an eponymous debut EP in 2017, which included the iHeartRadio Rocky Mountain Song of the Year-winning single "Horses Are Faster." That led to a deal with Warner Music, which released his first full-length effort, the pop-leaning Coyote Cry, in 2021. Creatively charged after getting married and becoming a father, Munsick composed a full-length love letter to the culture of the Old West with his sophomore outing, 2023's White Buffalo, which reached number five on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. The heartful single "Long Live Cowgirls" closed out the year. Munsick's first release of 2024 was the low-key country-rocker "Heartbreak King."
