Balqees
Born Balqees Ahmed Fathi on 20 October 1988 in Abu Dhabi, the well-known Emirati singer and actor known mononymously as Balqees (بلقيس) began learning various instruments and singing at an early age, encouraged by her father Ahmed Fathi, the Yemeni singer and oud player. She released her debut album Majnoun in 2013 and the follow-up in 2015, Zai Ma Ana. Her third album Arahenkom arrived in 2017 and she has released a string of singles along the way, including Romana, from the TV Series of the same name, in 2017, and "Momken" featuring Saif Nabeel in 2021. In October 2022, she joined the likes of RedOne, Manal, Rahma Riad, and Nora Fatehi for Light The Sky, a song for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
