The Love Doctor
Originally raised in the Memphis area, Lewis Clark moved to Illinois and became involved in the music industry through radio. With a love of the Motown sound and rhythm and blues mixed with gospel, Lewis became a respected disc jockey in Illinois. With his DJ name being the Blues Doctor, Lewis would often perform at various gospel events, playing tunes but also occasionally performing them as well. In 1997, the Blues Doctor changed his name to the Love Doctor. That same year he released Midnight Recipe on the Nutrition label. Often compared to Otis Redding and Stan Mosely, Love Doctor released another album in April 2001. Doctor Of Love, on the Mardis Gras label, didn't receive much fanfare or acclaim, but Love Doctor was persistent. In 2002, Love Doctor released Moaning And Groaning on Mardis Gras. Mixing soul, gospel with rhythm and blues, Love Doctor has performed in Illinois and has been featured in magazines such as Illinois Entertainer.
