The Blam
Brooklyn's jangly indie rockers the Blam formed in 2001, when singer/guitarist Jerry Adler, guitarist Reuben Maher, bassist Itamar Ziegler, and drummer Yuval Lion decided to form their own band after admiring each other's work in other groups. Adler's main musical inspiration was the Beatles, but the Blam's sound also incorporated punk and indie rock along with pristine pop. The band began recording in their own private studio and had their self-titled album ready for release in early 2003. Just over a year later, the Blam returned with their second album, Caveat Emptor, which found the group playing a smoother, dreamier style of guitar pop.
