Sally Boy

Sally Boy's smooth, soul-tinged pop is both good-natured and self-examining. The onetime indie rock musician was studying music at USC when he released his solo debut EP, EREZ (his real name), in 2020. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Erez Potok-Holmes started out on the piano as a toddler. Growing up, he took part in musical theater productions and began writing his own songs, eventually performing them as a teen. He was playing basement shows in an alt-rock band when he moved to Los Angeles to major in popular music at the University of Southern California. A song he wrote approximately a year after settling in L.A., "Sally Boy," became his solo debut in June 2020. It accumulated tens of thousands of streams by the arrival of Sally Boy's first EP, EREZ, that November.
