Deuce
Beloved Naarm/Melbourne group Deuce {pron. Juice, but with a D} emerged in Covid’s 2020 lockdown when Kayleigh Heydon and Curtis Wakeling extended their romantic bond into a creative one, releasing their self-recorded, mixed and produced self-titled debut album via Dinosaur City Records in 2021, before the duo had ever played together outside of their home.
Following praise from the likes of NME, Paper, The Music, Music Feeds and The Big Issue among others, the record was nominated for the prestigious Australian Music Prize, with singles added to rotation across 2SER and SYN, plays on double j and triple j and adds to a handful of Spotify’s most influential editorial playlists including Soft Glow, Fresh Finds: Indie, The Local List and Fuzzy
The duo have since become fixtures on the local music circuit, sharing stages with some of the country’s most exciting artists including Julia Jacklin, Cool Sounds and FLOWERTRUCK, extending live with Jake O’Brien (NOCON) on drums, Angie Brown on bass and Claudia Colvin on synth.
