BlueBucksClan

Los Angeles rap duo BlueBucksClan use minimal, hard-edged beats to make lots of space for their uncompromising lyrics about money, power, and excess. The group went quickly from self-releasing mixtapes to collaborating with Quavo and Lil Yachty on their 2021 project Clan Virus 2. Their output continued with the 2022 EP See the Difference and 18-track Clan Way 3. They collaborated with producer Hit-Boy for 2024's Biggest Out the West. BlueBucksClan was formed in 2019 by childhood friends DJ and Jeeezy. Both had grown up in South Los Angeles and met while in high school before going to college together on football scholarships. After college, they worked 9-to-5 jobs before deciding to make music a full-time venture; they released their debut mixtape, Clan Way, in 2019. From there, the rappers produced music nonstop, issuing mixtapes like No Rules, Clan Way 2, Going Up, Clan Virus, and No Rules 2 at a steady clip. By the March 2021 release of the mixtape Clan Virus 2, BlueBucksClan had signed on with Universal Music Group sublabel Out the Blue Records. Clan Virus 2 featured guest spots from Out the Blue labelmate Bino Rideaux as well as contributions from Quavo, Hit-Boy, Cash Kidd, and Lil Yachty. The four-song EP See the Difference appeared in 2022, followed that same year by the longer Clan Way 3. Included on the latter album were the collaborations "Let Me Know" with Jeremih and "Have You Ever" with Cash Kidd. Biggest Out the West, a full collaboration with Hit-Boy, arrived in 2024, and included apperances from Wiz Khalifa, 2 Chainz, and Ty Dolla $ign.
