Suite à un Typhoon de 2021 tourné vers la piste de danse, le duo britannique Royal Blood constitué de Mike Kerr (basse, chant) et Ben Thatcher (batterie) retrouve le chemin des bacs en 2023 avec Back to the Water Below, quatrième opus studio auto-produit et enregistré dans son home studio de Brighton. Revenant en grande partie aux sonorités de son How Did We Get So Dark? de 2017, le groupe intègre au passage de nouveaux éléments sous la forme de synthétiseurs et de piano, donnant à des titres comme le single "Pull Me Through", "There Goes My Cool" ou "How Many More Times" des reflets glam rock rappelant des travaux de groupes tels que Supergrass. Propulsé par le single "Mountains At Midnight", Back to the Water Below décroche le quatrième numéro un à domicile pour le duo dont la popularité reste intacte une dizaine d'années après ses débuts discographiques.
