Gothminister

Gothminister is a Norwegian industrial metal project known for its macabre imagery and noirish, gothic themes. A staple of the AFM label's roster since the late-2000s, the band rose to chart success in 2013 with their fifth album, Utopia. Over the next decade, they continued to develop their sound with 2017's supernatural themed The Other Side and the orchestral bombast of 2022's Pandemonium. Formed in 1999 by Oslo musician Bjørn Alexander Brem, the initial lineup of Gothminister released a handful of singles before debuting with the full-length Gothic Electronic Anthems in 2003. Over the next decade, Brem built the band into a successful act, touring and playing festivals across Europe and releasing three more albums including 2005's Empire of Dark Salvation, 2008's Happiness in Darkness, and 2011's Anima Inferna, the latter of the two appearing on German label AFM Records. 2013's Utopia, found chart success in Norway and Germany. Weaving together electronic elements, hard industrial metal, gothic imagery, and an undercurrent of black humor, Gothminister found chart success in Norway and Germany with 2013's Utopia. Their sixth album, 2017's The Other Side, explored various supernatural themes as Brem continued to expand stylistically and sonically. Five years later, 2022's Pandemonium added orchestral and choral elements into the band's sound on a semi-conceptual album about civil unrest and choas within the fictional Gothminister kingdom.
